Wassaw Island continues to be the least spoiled of Georgia's barrier islands. Beachcomb along seven miles of driftwood-laden beach. View the historic ruins of the fort built-in 1898 in preparation for the Spanish-American war. There are over 20 miles of interior island trails through pristine maritime forests.
Destination Type: MainSituated on an islet off the southeastern tip of Cockspur Island, marking the South Channel of the Savannah River, the Cockspur Lighthouse stands twelve miles east of the port of Savannah. The islet, often covered by high tide, is comprised of oyster shells and marsh grass.

You can beach-comb or surf fish on the southern tip or hike to the northern side to take a look back at Tybee while enjoying the solitude of Little Tybee. On the return trip, we pass the Cockspur Lighthouse and Fort Pulaski.
Destination Type: MainLocated on the Isle of Hope, this is one of Savannah's most picturesque streets. The long, winding road boasts gorgeous antebellum-style mansions and quaint cottages. First inhabited in the 1700s by surveyor Noble Jones, the island today features lovely homes, many of which were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Destination Type: MidpointYes, this is THAT Moon River made famous by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Johhny Mercer's home overlooked the river, which was then called the Back River, but was since renamed in honor of the song.
Destination Type: MidpointThe island is famous for deviled crab and a local distillery. On weekends local bands play, creating an excellent low-key spot to enjoy a cold one with friends. Daufuskie also offers sandy beaches and driftwood sculptures - this isolated beach is perfect for a picnic!

The island's interior is inaccessible to the general public and is inhabited by island pigs, free-range donkeys, and sea turtles. The northern tip of the island, Bradley Point, is famous for its high dunes, white sandy beaches, and oak trees.
